Hi...I'm new to this but thought a 10 minute write would be good for my sanity as well as my written skill. I'm a grad student at aecom and in my first rotation. i enjoy my work but feel frustrated because i'm new to the lab and don't know where things are....i'm also new to the techniques so i work a bit slow. as i study for classes i feel behind in all my lectures. between classes, rotation, study groups and home stuff, i don' t have time for anything. i have one day a week for my finacee cathy but feel sometimes i could devote more time to her. but i know that i still need to work.
as for the nyc i feel like a california snob, i can't buy from a mom and pop shop because i can't return things....products are sometimes substandard and retards are everywhere. every place i go i see jerry springer and customer service is nill. cash is required for many purchases. i miss strip malls and even union landing because everything is one place. costco is the closest thing to california but is not the same because people can't drive.
the elevator doesn't work for the 2nd week in a row. waiting for an open elevator car is ridiculous.
