Is a relationship based purly on love or a partnership? I think it's a combination of a partnership and love. You have to be in love but need to have traits that contribute to the forward progress of the relationship. Love won't feed you when there is no food on the table but it will drive you to work hard in school to build your job skills to land a job after graduation. You don't want to marry someone who will mooch off you for the rest of life. Having skills and not finding a job is not long term mooching but not trying or doing anything is mooching. Love is partnership in the sense they bring you up when you feel down, lending a ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.
Do you think Jack would have helped Rose raise the 7 hungry kids after they got there trick asses off the Titanic? All that crap in the movies about love is on the only thing that matter is Arse dropping.
Similar value are needed as well in a compatible relationship....imagine if Cathy was opposed to stem cell research? I would be saying "What the #$$%^%" She isn't opposed to stem cell research so we're kosher.

Ya, a relationship is very much a partnership. There has to be physical attractions, emotional attachments and some cold hearted analasys to see if you will each help each other in the coming years. Janey and I know that we are attracted to each other, and we love each other very much, but we also make sure that each of us supports the other in furthuring what we want to do. Right now I am doing everything I can to give Janey the support that she needs to get through school, and she's doing everything she can to let me build my job up right now.
